They're Heerrreee!!!

On Saturday morning, two NLGA volunteers set out for the Wisconsin Dells to pick up five professional athletes.  We were also getting a previously adopted to rehome.  The five newly retired consisted of two girls and three boys.

We arrived at the Cracker Barrel about noon and began the task of unloading, separating dogs for each group that was picking up dogs.  A  big thank you to GPA-WI and all the volunteers who transported the dogs from Florida to NLGA volunteers in Wisconsin.

The first dog we loaded for NLGA was DK's Pometta or Sweet Pea.  She is a three year old beautiful white and brindle little girl.  Sweet Pea is very sweet and affectionate.  She traveled well during her last leg of the long journey from Florida.  She was quite interested in where she was heading.

Next into our van was Iruska Fantastik or Fantastik.  Fantastik will be 4 in September and has a lovely black muzzle that is hidden by the muzzle.

This gorgeous reddish fawn colored boy spent the first half of the drive home trying to sit on my lap.  Fantastik was very persistent and wore me down.

The quietest best passenger was JK Black or Black.

Black will be 4 in November and spent most of the trip napping.  This made it hard to get a good photo, but he is a handsome black greyhound!!

KC Furry Bound or Furry.  Furry, a beautiful brindle color, turned 3 in February. He was curious about where we were heading.

The fifth retired racer is PG Moneta or Moneta.  She will be 4 in October and is a lovely dark brindle color.  Moneta travelled well and spent most of the trip resting.

Last, but not least is a HUGE beautiful white and brindle boy named Syler or Sy.

This picture is blurry but trust me, he is one handsome boy.  You can read more about him on the NLGA website.  Below is a much better photo that shows how handsome he really is.

The easy part of these newly retired greyhounds journey to adoption is over.  The most important part of their journey is to find a foster homes to transition these beautiful greyhounds to home life.  If you are considering becoming a foster home, give it a try.  There is no long term commitment needed.  You will find this a very rewarding experience.  Please contact Donna at guber2nac@aol.com or 763-754-9754 for more information or to arrange to pick up a foster greyhound who is waiting for adoption.

Or maybe you are ready to add a greyhound to your home.
