Did you know that April is Adopt-A-Greyhound month! No? Well, now you do!
What can you do to help promote Adopt-A-Greyhound month and help NLGA's retired racing greyhounds find their very own forever homes?
There are lots of things you can do (and probably already do) to promote greyhounds as pet.
Here are three really easy things!
1) Put a picture of your greyhound/s on your desk at work. When someone asks you what kind of dog it is...as they inevitably will...you get to tell them how amazing they are as pets and plant that greyhound seed!
2) Take your greyhound/s for walks. When people stop you in your tracks to ooh and ahh over your very beautiful and "wow, really soft" walking companions, take a few minutes to talk with them! You never know, you could have more greyhounds in your neighborhood in no time!
3) Talk with your friends. In line to get coffee, sitting down for lunch, chatting on the phone, or at the gym it is not difficult to believe that your four-legged family members will come up in general conversation. Take the opportunity to brag about the retired professional athlete that lives in your house! Your friends will listen because they are your friends ... and others may overhear your conversation too. It just may spark the interest of future greyhound families!
