Volunteer Opportunities

Northern Lights Greyhound Adoption is nothing without its volunteer base.  There are many way you can help and some do not require a big time commitment.  Here are some ideas:

Walk the Foster Dogs at the Clinic
While the new greyhounds are waiting for a foster home, a walk each day makes them very happy and healthy.  Do you have an hour or so 1 day a week, 1 day every two weeks, or 1 day a month that you would like to get a little extra exercise? Volunteer to be a dog walker.  If you would like to give it a try, please contact Donna at 763-754-9754 or send her an email, guber2nac@aol.com.

Host a Meet & Greet
For those of you who are familiar with greyhounds and have adopted one (or two or five), consider hosting a meet & greet.  These are generally scheduled once a month and last for 1 1/2 to 2 hours and are held at pet supply stores.  Do you like to talk to people about how great having a greyhound in you life is?  Contact our meet and greet coordinator, Kari at stamper_fool@hotmail.com

Attend Events
NLGA members hold social events throughout the year.  Many are with our greyhounds to help educate the public about what great pets the retired racers make.  But they are also fun and good ways to meet people.  Watch the blog, Facebook page, and NLGA website for information about our social events.  And if you have ideas for new events send us a note!  nlgahounds@gmail.com

Thanks for all your volunteer efforts ... you are what makes NLGA possible!
