Tails From Home -- Ivanka

It is always fun to learn how our newly adopted greyhounds are doing in their new homes.  We received an update from Ivanka's new family.  She has been with her new family for almost 2 weeks now.

This is the update I received after 1 day (with a couple edits):

Things are going GREYT! Our wolfhound/deerhound Harry, who is aggressive and bossy, was a complete gentleman! I was SO shocked! He even stays right behind her to make sure she can get up the stairs (he usually stampedes and pushed others out of the way to get up first) IT WAS AMAZING to see him act that way!!! No grumbling at all from my dogs, but she was kind of growly, just telling them to back off and give her space. They all seem to respect that request. Even after only one day, the smaller dogs don't seem to bother her and she has pretty much stopped growling.

She is terrific at pottying outside, let’s us know, and not one accident...yet. But really fantastic and smart. Eating like a horse.

The first night she slept in her kennel. She cried all night. I can tune out easily, but David cannot, and let her out at 2:30am and brought her to bed! Grrrr...(that’s ME growling) I don’t want that habit started. Last night I fixed her up on the couch and she only tried to get in bed with us once, then settled in on the couch and slept all night. She is also the CUDDLIEST greyhound I’ve ever had. LOVE that! She is the most well-adjusted greyhound I've ever brought home, by far!

Ivanka sure looks like she is making herself at home.  What a beautiful girl!!!

One of Ivanka's canine housemates is a cute little wiener dog named Bella.  Bella wants nothing more than to cuddle with Ivanka.  They are getting closer and Ivanka has stopped growling at Bella.  Molly thinks they will be best buddies very soon.

It is so heartwarming to be involved in successful adoptions!!
