Tails from Home -- Frazier Has A New Name To Go With His New Family

It is always fun to hear how a newly adopted greyhound and his family are adapting to each other.  As a foster mom, you form a bond with the foster greyhound and love them in a very special way so I like to know that everyone is happy.  Here is an email we received from Frazier's family.

"Frazier (who we are now calling Loki) is happy boy! We both love him very much and he certainly likes to return the affection with lots of cuddling and tail wagging. The first days were not that difficult and we would especially like to thank you for doing such a great job in acclimating him to household life.

There have been the occasional 'scares' from the dishwasher and the vacuum cleaner, but otherwise he is laid-back and relaxed. He can traverse stairs with a little more grace and has been exceptionally easy to teach boundaries as it relates to our dinner table and kitchen. He loves to lounge on his bed, but is eager to be near us and frequently checks on us if we are in separate rooms.

We started clicker training a few days after he came home and we've mastered "down" and are just starting to tackle "sit." He loves his walks and can't wait to go outside when we get home. His little hops let us know he's excited to see us and he remains a very good boy on his leash. As he has become more accustom to us, he has displayed more and more of his personality and with only a few, cleanable accidents, he has started to adjust to his new schedule. We have also been adjusting, but we are both so happy to share our life with such a wonderful greyhound!

Thanks again for helping Loki become such a greyt hound!"

Receiving an email like this makes the foster mom experience even more rewarding by knowing Loki's foster experience helped him become a good housemate for his new family.  Give fostering a try!!!
