Take a Look Around

Hello NLGA Dog Blog Readers!

Yesterday we read about how well a dog smells and how their depend on smell like we depend on sight.  We go for a walk to enjoy the scenery.  Our greyhounds go for a walk to enjoy the smells.

Maybe you have more patience than I do, but sometimes stopping to smell every single last tree, post, blade of grass, you-name-it can make a walk long for me!  Long because I are seeing.  But the greyhounds are smelling!

In an attempt to build patience and 'stop to smell the roses' as the saying goes maybe we should start looking around at our surroundings more and seeing all the things there are to see.  Maybe we should 'look' with as much frequency on walks as our greyhounds 'smell'?!

Would we be surprised as to what we see if we actually stop and take the time to look?  The answer is probably YES!

Yup ... saw it on a walk!  Remember these?!?

For the next two weeks while you are out walking around take time to look while your greyhounds are smelling!  Then take a picture of all the odd, strange, and surprising things you see!

Seriously.  On. A. Walk.

You know you will have your phone with you anyway, just take it out and snap a picture.  It really is that easy!  Not only will this make walks a lot more fun for you when you are actually looking at what is around you, your greyhound will enjoy the chance to smell too!  Win.  Win.

Injured dog?  Real live tiger?  Got closer and its a stuffed tiger!

Snap those pictures and then email them to us so we can share what you see with everyone else too!  nlgahounds@gmail.com  Go on ... enjoy those walks without having to pull on leashes to stop the smelling ... because you will be too busy looking to notice!
