It's time to get excited, because the NLGA Annual Picnic is just TWO days away!!!!
To celebrate, this week's poem is a song that you can sing to your hound as you head down to the picnic on Saturday morning! It has been written to the tune of "Teddy Bears' Picnic" by John W. Bratton and Jimmy Kennedy.

Happy Hounds' Picnic

When you go down to the park today,
You're in for a big surprise.
When you go down to the park today,
Your spirits will surely rise,
'Cause lots of Greyts from NLGA
Will gather there for certain today
For this is the day that the happy hounds have their picnic!
Every Greyt who comes to the park
Is in for a treat today!
They'll have some marvelous snacks to eat
And wonderful games to play!
Beneath the trees, they'll mingle at ease
And roll around as much as they please
'Cause this is the way that happy hounds like their picnics!
When you go down to the park today,
Be sure that you bring some friends.
It's lovely down at the park today,
The good times will never end,
'Cause lots of Greyts from NLGA
Will gather there for certain today
For this is the day that the happy hounds have their picnic!
Picnic time for happy hounds!
The greyt big happy hounds are having
A lovely time today!
Watch them race across the grounds,
And see them picnic on their holiday!
See them pace around the park!
They love to sniff and bark
At everything around!
They'll romp and play throughout the whole day
While they wag their tails away
Because they're wild and they're happy hounds!
