Does a wagging tail make you smile? Do you feel happy when you know that your hound is happy too? This week's poem is all about the reciprocal happiness that is often experienced between man (or woman!) and dog.
Happiness
By Katie Gilstrap
His wagging tail
Is counterpart
To all the rhythm
In my heart
For when his mirth
Is manifest,
I feel a banging
In my chest.
Wag by wag
And pound by pound,
The consequence
That I have found
Is that my mood
Can be defined
By that which waves
On his behind.
