As you already know, we have GREYT volunteers! Lots of people do lots of things to keep NLGA going day in and day out! We could not be more greyt-ful!
Are there things you would like to help with? Do you have ideas you would like to share and help see through? Do you have time or talents you would like to contribute?
Need some ideas on how you can help? Here are a few that may help spark some ideas for you!
- Meet & Greets
- Be a back-up meet and greet host when the regular host needs a back-up
- Host your own (quarterly, every other month, once a month, every other week, weekly ... you choose!)
- Fundraising Events
- Help at the Cub Foods Brat Wagon (July 18, 19, 20)
- Help at the BW3 fundraiser (August 20)
- Identify an opportunity for a fundraiser!
- NLGA Annual Picnic
- Picnic Planning ... help make the picnic all that it is
- Picnic Helpers (set-up, 1-hour, 2-hours, tear-down. You choose!)
- Solicit donations (or donate) for the silent auction, live auction, and raffle
- Help in identifying and securing vendors
- Be a vendor
- Be a sponsor
- Dog Walkers
- Walk the dogs at the clinic waiting for foster/forever homes
- Walk foster dogs in parades
- Crafty People
- Sew Adopt-Me silks (jackets) for the foster dogs to wear to events
- Sew Donation Dog silks (jackets) for meet & greets and events
- Embroider the Adopt-Me and/or Donation Dog silks
- Sew collars
- Sew winter jackets
- Any greyhound related crafty item!
- Social Events (people or hound/people)
- Host an event at the location you choose
- Museums
- Favorite place to eat
- Local park for pot luck / bbq's
- Sporting events
- Local celebrations, parades, festivals, and/or fairs
- Mini-golf
- Breweries
- Plays/Theatres
- etc.
- Participate in events ... crowds draw crowds!
- Start a Greyt Walk (as part of the walking series) in your neighborhood!
- Be an event photographer, videographer, or story writer!
- Make calls to invite others to events
- Let us know your ideas and we will do our best to make it happen!
- Own a business?
- Invite NLGA to host a meet & greet
- Sponsor an event
- Donate to the picnic
- New Dog Hauls
- Drive your van or larger vehicle to go pick up newly retired racing greyhounds
- Be a passenger on a dog haul
- Donate gas cards!
- Help with the blog!
- Write a short post about an event
- Write a short post about your hound
- Write a short post about anything greyhound related!
- Fostering!!!
- Watch an available hound for a day or weekend when a foster family is out of town
- Introduce an available hound to life in a house for a weekend
- Be a short-term foster for a week
- Help transport foster dogs from their foster home to adoption appointments
