The Looking Glass

Hello NLGA Dog Blog Readers!

Has your hound ever had an encounter with a mirror? Did he have a funny reaction to his reflection? This week's poem is all about mirrors from the perspective of a Greyt!

The Looking Glass
By Katie Gilstrap

A dog without a scent
Is living somewhere in the hall.
Whenever I can see him,
He is up against the wall.

I swear he never blinks
Because his eyes are open wide.
He stares at me with wonder
As he wags his tail with pride.

He hardly makes a peep,
But when I bark, he does the same.
And stranger yet, he tilts his head
When Mama calls my name.

I hope that maybe one day
He will learn to come and play
Instead of staying hidden
In the looking glass all day!
