Near the kitchen stove he lies,
Watching with his eager eyes
Pots and pans and dishes full
Of turkey, beans, and casserole.
Even though it's food he's craving,
He won't think of misbehaving.
If he waits, he knows he'll score
The scraps that tumble to the floor!
