Happy Gotcha Day Needles!

Hello NLGA Dog Blog Readers!

We have a 1st Gotcha Day to celebrate today!

---------------

We're excited to note that Needle (formerly What You Need) will celebrate one year "on the outside" this week, so we thought we'd share some of his best moments in pictures.

Needle was picked up at NLGA on July 22, 2013. The relentless picture-taking started immediately; this was taken in the parking lot at Foley Animal Hospital!

We returned home to Thunder Bay that evening, where Needle discovered another handsome greyhound...or a garden mirror, much to his confusion.

We quickly Needle's likes and dislikes, one of his favourite things being car rides...

....and one of his least favourite things was wearing shoes. He would get more comfortable with this when winter arrived.

As we got to know each other Needle would occasionally surprise us by doing the things that greyhounds are are so well known for, like sleeping with his tongue hanging every which way.

Winter was not Needle's favourite thing about moving to Canada, but he handled it with his usual style and grace.

Needle met the other three boys from NLGA that live in Thunder Bay, Field day, Earl and Baker. It was like a class reunion.

Then, in April, yet another friend arrived when Bert (Liberty) was adopted. Needle and Bert walk and play a lot together.

Now they share the couch with nary a growl.

Also in April, Needle and Earl did their bit for Greyhound Adoption Month when they were interviewed on CBC Radio. Being strong, silent types the boys let their two-legs do most of the talking.

Needle also discovered that he has a sister, Panda. You really have to look closely to tell them apart.

Needle's actually a little embarrassed by all this attention and has decided to just lay low, take it easy and wait for his morning walk.

Congratulations Needle and family!  We all wish you many, many, many more greyt years together!
