Remember, Be Smart!

Hello NLGA Dog Blog Readers!

A quick note that the Richfield PetSmart meet and greet on Sunday has been cancelled.  Oh, and if you have not heard, ALL of the public schools in Minnesota have also been cancelled for Monday.  And lots of other things have been cancelled too!

Brandon keeping cool at Ren Fest

Air temperatures of -32F (-36C) in Thunder Bay to -23 in Minneapolis to -10F by our friends in central Iowa!  Factor in the wind and the 'feels like' temperatures are in the -50F range.  Let's just say burr.

Kiki panting to stay cool

Just be smart and stay safe.  Know your limits.  Know your pets limits.  Stay inside when you can.  Wear coats and boots outside when you (or your hound) cannot.  Reduce the time of exposure to the cold.  Hunker down as this too shall pass!

We are Minnesotans (or Canadians, or insert-midwest-state-here-ans) after all, we can handle this ... we have seen it this cold before and we will see it this cold again!

And, now, remember back to last August 25th.  Remember?!  It was the weekend of the MN Renaissance Festival and the St. Croix Kennel Club Dog Show.  Remember yet?  Excessive heat warnings.  Does +97 degrees ring a bell?  Activities were being cancelled because of the HEAT!

Where else can you get a temperature range in excess of 120F!  Are you not glad you choose to live in the land of extremes?!  Go on ... 'enjoy' it well it lasts so we have something to complain about compare it to come summer!
