NLGA Outings -- Grand Old Day Parade

Hello NLGA Dog Blog Readers!

The Grand Old Day Parade is this coming Sunday!  That's only 3 days from now!  Are you going to be there?...you are not going to want to miss it!  Promise!

The goal is to have 54 greyhounds in attendance...that's one greyhound for each NLGA greyhound adopted last year, plus one!  And it's also 3 times the number of greyhounds we had at Party on the Patio last Sunday.  This goal cannot be achieved without your help!  Each and every greyhound gets the total number one greyhound closer to 54!  Each greyhound make a difference and it cannot be done without your help!

The Grand Old Day Parade has generated a lot of interest and adoptions for NLGA over the years.  180,000 people seeing greyhounds truly has an impact!  Let's make a BIG impact!  54 greyhounds big!

NLGA will have two vehicles in the parade in the event that a hound is unable to walk the whole route.  There are also plans in the works to strategically park a few vehicles at the finish so that humans can be shuttled from the finish back to the start to get their vehicles...and then drive back to the finish and pick up their greyhounds.  That way nobody has to walk the 2.5 mile parade route twice!  If there is interest in helping with this, please email nlgahounds@gmail.com so that efforts can be coordinated.

Lineup is at 8:30 AM with the parade starting at 9:30 AM.  NLGA's lineup number is 9.  The parade starts at Dale and goes to Fairview along the length of Grand Avenue.  The weather should be cooperative...as of right now the forecast is a mix of sun and clouds in the 50s.  Not too hot, not too cold.  Just right.

Let's plan on a HUGE group picture at 9:15 AM!  See you at Dale and Grand on Sunday morning!

p.s. There are a couple foster dogs that need someone to bring them to the parade as well!  If you are able to help, please contact Donna at 763.754.9754 or guber2nac@aol.com
