Tonight there will be a new moon! Are your hounds afraid of the dark? This week's poem is all about dark nights from the perspective of a Greyt!
New Moon
By Katie Gilstrap
The moon is new.
The sky is dark.
The stars are dim.
The night is stark.
Against the wind,
The branches creak
And in the trees,
The ravens shriek.
I know I'm in
My own backyard,
But still, I find
It's rather hard
To overlook
And undermine
The chills that creep
Along my spine.
I must admit,
My nerves are fraught.
I should be brave,
But I am not
And so I think
I'll run inside
So I can find
A place to hide!
