We have three new retired racers to share with you today!  They arrived on Sunday after a very long ride from Florida (with a broken down truck halfway through the trip)!

NLGA License Plate Frame Advisory Message

Dear Dog Blog Readers,

NLGA have been informed our old style of license plate frames do not conform to Minn. State Statute that requires "all assigned letters and number to be completely visible. Any type of material, including clear and colorless material that affects the visibility or reflectivity of a license plate is illegal and could result in a fine."

Here is an example:

The old style of NLGA license plate frames have not been sold for over 10 years.  However, NLGA encourages everyone with a NLGA license plate frame to verify that your frame is legal to use in Minnesota (and other states).  NLGA encourages anyone with the old style license plate frame on their vehicle to remove it. NLGA will exchange your old license plate frame for a new one at no cost to you.

In only a matter of days, on December 16th, it will have been one whole year since that snow-stormy morning when Day stole our hearts and we became a family. We've had an incredible year and I am grateful for every single minute we have with this boy of absolute sweetness and love!

Being a Greyhounds mama, I've found, is not for the hopelessly shy. Or, maybe it is... maybe it's actually the best thing to have finally forced me out of my protective shell.  I have talked to more people in this past year than I maybe have in my entire life before adopting Day, but, I love that people are curious! I love that people are fascinated and excited to learn about Retired Racing Greyhounds in search of loving homes. And, I especially love that people want to meet Day and how they are thoroughly surprised and delighted at how he immediately leans into everyone he meets for a cuddly introduction. Days heart is open and has, in turn, opened me up to so many conversations with people I otherwise would never have had.

His racing name is O Ya Night Train. He is another youngster at 1 year and 7 months of age. And he weighs in at 73 pounds. Night Train retired due to a racing injury although he is doing great now!

"This picture was at my local Denver carwash (Car Wash Waterworks on Broadway)... pet's welcome. These pups look very familiar to me :) when I inquired inside, they said they download it from the internet. Warmed my heart to see MN friends posted in my neighborhood ♡"

It's pretty fun that a picture from the NLGA Dog Blog made it to a Denver carwash!

Anoka Halloween Parade

Hello NLGA Dog Blog Readers!

5 days until NLGA @ the Anoka Halloween Parade on Saturday, October 25th! NLGA line up is: Division 2, Unit 15!

Do you have your Halloween costumes ready?! It should be a beautiful fall morning to walk in the parade with sunny skies and temperatures reach near 70! No reason not to bring your hound(s) and help us make a large impression.

The Anoka Halloween Grand Day Parade is this Saturday, October 25. Step-off is at 1:00 p.m.

Roads will close at 11:45, so please be at the staging area by 11:30. We are Division 2, Unit 15.

The staging area is behind the Anoka American Legion, and maps can be found on the parade website: anokahalloween.com or here is a .pdf of the map from the website.
